Simone Truong, artistic director, and Miriam Haltiner, project director, form the core team of TanzPlan Ost.

Simone Truong, who was born (*1983) and grew up in Solothurn and has Chinese-Vietnamese roots, is a choreographer, performer, and dancer. Since her Bachelors degree in choreography from ArtEZ HKA in Arnhem (NL) in 2007, Truong has been based in Zurich, where her work is regularly co-produced by the Gessnerallee. As a performer, she has worked, i.a., with Jérôme Bel, Philippe Saire, and Liquid Loft/Chris Harring. In 2011, she received an artistic grant from the Canton of Solothurn as well as the Recognition Award in Dance from the City of Zurich. Since December 2014, Truong has been the artistic director of the TanzPlan Ost Festival.

Miriam Haltiner, who was born  (*1977) in Zurich, grew up with music and dance in the Zürcher Weinland, deciding later to study sociology and geography. After projects in the field of sustainable tourism and cultural tourism in Graubünden, Glarus, and the Bernese Oberland regions, Haltiner came back to Zurich in 2014. Based in Zurich today, she works as a production director in theater and dance. Since summer 2015, she has served as the managing director of ig tanz ost and project director of TanzPlan Ost.
